whispering figures

          rivers cannot erode . the whispers

                        figure .

          weeds surrender .
                                                           limbs
           perform a vineyard
                                                           rapt
in a bursting grape
                                                      fermenting

 

         at once in the skin!

plant beneath the sordid sand

where sequestered bodies fuse

          flare and flourish

                                                       beyond a few cold

stars .
