The Gypsies have been Taken -- JD Kruger, GLP4.

The gypsies have been taken,
And the empire down to dust.
The prayer been forsaken,
All love has turned to lust.
The arts have all derision
And the army lost its host.
The beauty of the nation
Has sunk from coast to coast.
The gay have all to kitsch
The politic lost its fervor.
The righteous make their master
While just a few will e'er deserve her.
And so the treacherous teacher
May no longer bend to sway
He refuses to be liberal
In thought, speech, action, play.
But, what is one more betrayal
In a player's life of infidelity.
If there is no longer you,
There can only be a me...
No. I was not ever free.
My life was always fettered.
If my love was unrequited,
It was only yours that truly mattered.
The actor giggolo moves on
To greater roles there are to play.
It wasn't the poet's life that shattered,

but, a mask dropped on the way.
Less and less of spirit.
More and more of matter.
If not to sink to the earth below,
I will climb another ladder.
